March Break -March 16 - 20, 2026

The main and guidance offices will be closed during March Break. We hope our families have a restful March Break and we look forward to seeing everyone back on March 23, 2026.

Parent Teacher Interview  Night is March 26, 2026

Parents’ Night is on Thursday March 26th 2026. You will have an opportunity to meet with your child(ren)’s teacher(s) in person, and learn more about their course(s).

Families may access appointment bookings on Monday, March 23rd to Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 through the Edsby Portal. Edsby is the online tool supported for scheduling secondary interviews. Families will receive an invitation to sign up for a meeting time once the schedules are available.

Lake Simcoe Conservation Preserve

Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority has acquired a large piece of property around Deer Park PS.  They are beginning public consultations on proposed land usage.   Information can be found at the following link:

Guidance updates

Graduation:

Graduation this year is set to take place on June 24, 2026. The graduation fee has been set to $35 per graduate again this year.  This fee is used to cover the cost of graduation from the decorations to food and drinks. We are encouraging students to pay as soon as possible.  Payment can be made via schoolcashonline

My Career Journey:

The ministry of education has created a new website to support youth with post-secondary education in support of jobs in the trades as well as information about in demand careers.  The website is:

Scholarships:

Students looking to apply to scholarships are encouraged to begin the process as soon as possible.  Scholarships have different application requirements and deadlines to apply by. Please see the guidance google classroom for a starting point.

OSAP:

As of last week, OSAP wasn’t yet opened for students to create their account and apply.No information has been released about a date when this would open.

Specialist High Skills Major Program (SHSM):

Some of the students in the SHSM program will be involved in field trips on March 26 and 30.

Some students (priority given to grade 12 students) will be invited to attend the required training for standard first aid and CPR course on May 12.  Students will be spoken with individually after March Break.

Summer School:

We are expecting information about summer school courses and opportunities to be available to students between the end of March and the middle of April.

March is Persian Heritage Month

Please join us in honouring Persian Heritage Month with an engaging gathering, featuring cultural activities, student performances, light refreshments and an opportunity for students, families and staff to connect.

Y2 Legacy 2026 Summer Program

 

Y2 LEGACY is a transformative summer learning program that empowers students through a Black-centred lens celebrating leadership, innovation, and academic excellence. 

By building foundational knowledge and identity-affirming skills, students emerge with the confidence and capabilities to lead in their schools and communities. The foundational 

skills students gain in the summer will support them in navigating the school year with confidence and leadership.
