SDHS Relay for Life May 14
Relay for Life is happening at Sutton DHS on May 14th from 11am - 5 pm. At this event we celebrate the fundraising that we have done, along with our feeder schools, for an afternoon of music, fun, and outdoor activities. We honour the struggle that those battling cancer face, and raise funds for them and for those who support them. This year our fundraising goal is $10 000 and we are almost there! You can still make a donation at relayforlife.ca/sutton or through one of our student participants. Tax receipts from the Canadian Cancer Society are issued for any donation of $20 or more.
You can also contribute to the cause by visiting Giant Tiger (Sutton) this weekend (May 9 & 10) from 11am-3pm to purchase hot dogs and drinks. Giant Tiger is sponsoring a community BBQ for us, and all proceeds will go to SDHS Relay for Life!
Those who have registered for event day are reminded that they need to return their blue permission forms, $20 registration fee (online or in cash), and any cash donations they have collected by May 11th to participate. The registration fee covers the event, a Relay t-shirt, a luminary bag, food, & prizes throughout the day.
If you, or someone you know, is a cancer survivor or is living with cancer, they are invited to participate in our opening ceremony and survivor lap at 11:30am. They can register at relayforlife.ca/sutton as a free participant, will be given a teacher and a token of our appreciation and can participate in as much or as little of our event day as they wish.
Let's come together to honour the memories of those who have lost their battle, those who are fighting the fight, and everyone whose life has been touched by cancer.
